- Synopsis
- gather every year to make the "Jellicle choice" and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. After the overture, a tribe of cats known as the Jellicles gather on stage and describe themselves and their purpose ("Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats"). This is followed by a ballet solo performed by Victoria to signal the beginning of the Jellicle Ball ("The Invitation to the Jellicle Ball").
