“Laurence Connor and James Powell's rendition of Boublil and Schonberg's musical reinvention of Victor Hugo's novel is an absolute blinder.”
“Les Misérables is one of the best musicals of all time and this new version will undoubtedly run for years.”
“But it’s clear from this major retread that it still has bags of mileage – as does this gorgeously reborn Edwardian theatre.”
“He has shrewdly opened it not with one of Sondheim’s plinkety-plonk tooth-grinders, but with a revival of Boublil and Schönberg’s box-office cert Les Misérables.”
