“SpongeBob SquarePants The Broadway Musical, has captured all the silly, goofy, broadly camp, good-natured fun of the Nickelodeon TV series.”

“He is funny, charming, has a limitless range of voices to portray his multiple characters, and above all, injects his material with a Thanksgiving-size portion of humanity.”

“But seeing a collection of greatest hits from his productions does not a fully-satisfying Broadway show make.”

“So important is the philosophy. So relevant is the message. So important is an awareness of the way we are manipulated with language and that those in power control that language and how we view … everything.”

“But overall this show is a lesson in messing with the sacred.”

“This musical has much to recommend it, but overall it is inconsistent as a work of art.”

“The whole show is a feast for the eyes and ears, a beautifully wrapped sweet.”
