“I had a great time at ‘Jersey Boys,’ the new musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons at the Theater.”

“It is like- able - but not a blockbuster”

“Nothing about ‘Wicked’ is magical.”

“With this role, Fierstein places himself in the great line of Broadway divas.”

“But when you come down to it, a musical about the right to pee freely is basically just dumb.”

“Bebe Neuwirth is sensational as Velma, a sister convict Roxie shoves out of the spotlight.”

“The move to Broadway has magnified the show's flaws.”

“The music itself, even if it doesn't have much emotional range or variety, is wildly infectious, particularly the way it's sung by the sensationally talented cast.”

“The best new musical of 1993 — and for the last few seasons of drought — has to be Kiss of the Spider Woman.”

“Apart from some impressive performances, there's not much else to make Miss Saigon worthwhile.”

“It is a spectacular entertainment, visually the most impressive of the British musicals.”
