“Jenny Lyn Bader’s Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library is one of the best dramas of the year, a taut, gripping tale inspired by the little-known 1933 arrest of Hannah Arendt by the Gestapo.”

“Mrs. Stern and its compelling cast makes us want to go back into our history books to learn more about this true event and its overwhelming implication.”

“Overall, Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library is a very uncomfortable and engrossing reflection on what happens when people find their world and even their very identities being upended.”

“There's a lot to like in Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library, including literate dialogue and a sharp eye for the methods employed by governments to marginalize and destroy dissent. But it could use a jolt of tension.”

“But Bader takes such liberties with Arendt’s already incredible account that I find it hard to appreciate as fully as other people have the playwright’s effort to try to turn the incident into a taut, intelligent and resonant work of theater.”
